Easy How to Draw a Valentine’s Card
Below you’ll find an easy step-by-step tutorial for how to draw a Valentine’s Card. Using lines to draw hearts is a fun way to make them look transparent.
Line Hearts Drawing
This tutorial will show students how to draw a Valentine’s card by using only a few skinny markers. When a pencil heart shape is filled with lots of parallel lines, and then erased, the edges create the shape. And the more lines that are added, the clearer the shape is! It works with regular paper and markers, but looks really elegant with skinny markers and pretty drawing paper.
This Valentine’s card was drawn using a 2″ heart punch to make a template to trace, but students could always just fold a paper to make their own template too. Sometimes the more “unperfect” hearts have more personality and the “perfect” ones.
Teachers might want to note that this Valentine project also makes a nice Line art lesson, as Lines are one of the Elements of Art. It’s always fun to see what happens when you limit your drawings in a very specific way.
