- Drawing Paper. This is the good stuff you can buy in bulk for a good price.
- Pencils. I like how this brand always makes nice dark lines.
- Black Marker. A permanent marker will give you a dark black color.

- Start with a large mountain shape.
- Add a drippy layer of lava at the top.
- Erase lines inside, add more lava.
- Erase lines inside, and add texture lines.
- Draw an island around the mountain.
- Add small palm trees and water line.
- Draw a cloud of smoke at the top.
- Add smoke lines and spurts of lava.
- Trace with a marker and color.
